I am truly sad...
... for the death of someone I may have exchanged, at most, a few text words with, over this here internet. Mandarin Meg, Michelle Goodrich, whose Mandarin Design ("for people who make mistakes"), was the friendly face of all that seemed such a mystery about HTML and CSS.
I had put off the big redesign of this blog, finally ditching the Blogger template so commonly used, and making something more personal. I knew that when it came time, I would find all the advice I would need at Meg's. She was a cornerstone of my blogging world, like most things blog, introduced by Madame L. Frank first, the Madame (from her travels) and Stu have all posted so elequantly. My thoughts join theirs.

I never knew. Damn! I also used here blog to upgrade mine. Hers was one of the few really GIVING blogs around.
I sent her a postcard around 8 months ago from the Blue Mountains, I'll have to send them a card of another sort over at Mandarin. I would be preferring to send them another post card.
Sorry to be the bearer of such sad tidings. I was completely surprised by how upset I felt. Meg had made a comment once here, and I had sent a post card myself, but her blog and general presence was such a part of our blog corner. It makes the emotional aspects of this blogging business stand out. We are, I suppose, like pen pals. An antiquated concept, but one can understand it better as a blogger.
